Join a Summer Golf League for Women
After taking weekly golf lessons last summer with the Fairways to Leadership Organization through my MBA graduate program, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve joined my first ladies’ golf league.

A friend of mine recommended the LPGA Amateur league, and I joined just in time, the day before the cutoff on April 26th. It’s a fantastic way to get outside during the spring and summer and meet other women who enjoy playing golf. The LPGA Amateur league is great because it welcomes women of all skill levels and ages to join a legitimate league at local golf courses. The LPGA Amateur website’s search functionality allows golfers to find a local chapter and narrow down leagues based on course proximity or meeting times.
The league I joined meets at a convenient time for me, and even though the course is within a half-hour drive from home, it’s easy to get to. The league is very well-organized, with weekly emails from the league organizer and an automated signup system. Golfers confirm their attendance using the SignUpGenius app, which helps plan your summer schedule.
The league I’m part of meets on Thursdays at 5:00 pm, with groups of four women teeing off every 10-15 minutes or until there are four players ready to go.
The league operates on a pay-as-you-go basis at $30 per round for 14 weeks, and there is a $48 fee to join the LPGA Amateur community.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing with the other ladies I was grouped with last week and look forward to playing again tomorrow in the projected 60-degree weather with no rain!
In future posts, I’ll cover topics like what to include in your beginner golf bag, women’s golf fashion trends, essential rules to remember, and golf etiquette for newcomers to the league. If there’s anything specific you’d like to know more about, feel free to leave a comment!
